Dear Wonderful Members of the Murrieta Tennis Club,
It's that time of year when the USTA Mixed Doubles League is in full swing and we invite all our members to join in this fun-filled League event. The format will include 3 doubles matches with men and women playing together on the same team (NTRP "combo" levels: 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0). The season of play begins January 1 through March 31 with District playoffs April 17-19. We're confident that all our teams will advance to Sectionals which is May 29-31 and then following it up with a successful win at the National Western Championships in November.
This year's format will be slightly different, as we will have the Captains of each respective team draft from the group of players who have signed up in a scheduled meeting at the MTC. If you're interested in being a Captain, please join us Saturday, December 13 at 11:00am to learn how you can contribute your leadership skills in making the Mixed Doubles League a huge success. Additionally, you will be billed the USTA fees for League play (typically $21) from the MTC vs. signing up directly through the UTSA website.
Ask anyone who has played in previous Mixed Doubles Leagues, they will be first to tell you how enjoyable it was to play with and against top-notch players followed by what a great opportunity it was to get better acquainted with fellow MTC members. No worries if you don't have a partner, as we will be happy to coordinate the efforts to make sure that all the members who want to participate have the opportunity to play. All in all, it's a win-win to join the Mixed Doubles League! Deadline to let us know of your interest is Friday, December 19th.
